Community Standards

Cascade Powder Cats Forum is a very loosely moderated and self-policing community, but we insist that the privacy and security of our members be respected.

.5) We have just made membership a moderated thing. You will not only have to respond to an email confirming your ownership of an email address, but a moderator will then need to approve your membership. We were being inundated with spam accounts. Sorry for the extra steps, but we want a clean environment as we think you do, too.

1) Personal information of another member should never be disclosed. This includes details like their home address, workplace, financial information, etc.

2) Private Messages are private. Under no circumstances is it appropriate to post a private message that was sent to you in confidence.

3) Harassment of another member will not be tolerated. Every individual has personal standards for what they consider harassment and we ask that you respect their opinions, even if you don't agree. It is easy for intentions to be misunderstood and an individual has a responsibility to make it known to the offending member and/or a moderator when they are made to feel uncomfortable. As a community we share a responsibility to speak up when we see something we think constitutes harassment, even when we aren't party to it. We will handle any such situation on a case-by-case basis.

4) Content in the general forums should be kept in a ratings zone of G through PG-13. This is a forum enjoyed by a wide age range and everyone has the right not to be offended. Any language or material you would not see in a newspaper or would not want to share with your grandmother should be avoided or placed in the forum "The Wild West" (see below). Any post can be flagged as offensive and moderators will follow up on those reports.

Violation of these standards may result in immediate suspension or banning.


Signatures

Signatures are allowed but they must be small. One or two lines of text is OK. Large images are not permitted. This just keeps the site less cluttered and keeps the focus on the actual content of your posts.


The Wild West

We strongly support free speech but we also recognize that most users will want to be able to browse the site without concern of running across any offensive or NSFW (Not Safe for Work) content, be it words or pictures. This would be content that ranges above PG-13, to continue the ratings example used above. We also recognize that some users may not want to be exposed to it at all. For this reason, we request that you be considerate and limit posts of offensive or NSFW material to the adult content forum named The Wild West. Any material that the moderators deem offensive or NSFW will promptly be moved there. If we are required to move content you have contributed to the main forums to The Wild West more than twice, your account will be suspended until you and the moderators can agree it won't happen again.

By default, The Wild West forum will be hidden. In order access the forum, follow these instructions:
1) Go to your "User Control Panel".
2) Click on Usergroups.
3) Select the "Registered Adult Users" group.
4) Select "Join Selected" from the drop-down list.
5) Click "Submit".
